Thank you for visiting. I hope you can find it in your heart to help us to help at least some of the people in the Montana area who suffer from mental illness.

It has been well documented that persons with mental illness more readily respond to treatment when they are given the opportunity to interact with and care for animals. Not only can this interaction be therapeutic, it can also lead to opportunities for the person to become less dependent on government funding for daily living expenses as well as medical care through the development of skills that can lead to employment.

It is therefore my goal to raise enough capital, through your generosity, to purchase a small, working cattle and horse ranch in south-central Montana. The mission of this ranch will be to serve as a therapeutic and learning environment for people who would otherwise be living in an assisted living facility, group home or hospital.

Once established, the ranch would become self-sufficient and require little to no outside funding. The residents would also be earning money for personal use and to help offset medical expenses. This would also help reduce the financial burden of the state and federal government in regards to mental health care.

The costs involved in starting this venture are high due to the many regulations involved in such a facility. We will be required to have on staff several professionals including:

At least two nurses to monitor and dispense needed medications and deal with any health issues that may arise.

One licensed counselor (therapist) to provide individual and group counseling.

One qualified cook to provide meals and training for residents.

We will also work closely with nearby mental health professionals and facilities to insure the highest quality care and most beneficial and therapeutic environment possible for the residents.
